Mackay story

  Hi Chloe, Captain Benn has driven our boat all the way to a town. We saw 6 whales on the way. We have tied up our boat at the marina. We use very strong ropes and Captain Benn checks to make sure that Brian and pa Pete have tied good knots. There's bridges and cars and houses and lots of people at this town. It's not ommie's town and it's not near your house. It's a long long way from my home. Today pa Pete and Brian will help Captain Benn clean up the boat.... It got a bit messy when we were out on the sea. It's been great fun on this boat with Captain Benn, but pa Pete and Brian want to go home now. We love our homes. Lots of love pa Pete

 Hi Chloe, today we passed 10 islands. They had no bridges, no cars no houses and no people on them. We haven't seen any other boats or people, we are way way out on the sea. Captain Benn kept our boat in the deep water and we didn't get stuck. The waves are small and the boat isn't wobbly. We are on the way to a town but it will take a long time because our boat is very slow. Cars can go fast, but boats go so slow. We have no pa Pete bananas left and only a little bit of ommie's cake. The milk is nearly all gone, so we need to get to town and do some shopping. Lots of love pa Pete

 Hi Chloe this is a picture of the fish BRIAN got on his fishing line. We measured him, he was 1m long. We did not want to eat him, so we threw him back into the water. Love pa Pete

 Hi Chloe today Captain Benn said PA PETE AND BRIAN,  I WANT FISH AND CHIPS FOR DINNER . Ok Captain Benn we'll go and catch the fish in the small boat. We can take a fishing rod and catch one for dinner. Brian and pa Pete drive the little boat here and there and there and here. And after a long time something got caught on our fishing line. I'll send you a picture later. When Brian got the fish near the boat , pa Pete said look at all those teeth. I don't think that's a fish, it's a crocodile . NO SAID BRIAN IT A FISH, I THINK IT'S CALLED A LONG TOM.. will Captain Benn like that fish? I said. NO , SAID BRIAN. HE WON'T LIKE THAT FISH. ok said pa Pete, let's throw it back in the water, we might have  meat for dinner instead.. later that day Captain Benn cooked a nice lamb roast in his BBQ. We were very tired from all the fishing, so we went to bed early. Lots of love pa Pete This is Captain Benns BBQ

 Hi Chloe, I hope your holiday unit was lots of fun. I told you about the other man on our boat. His name is Brian and he's a very very very busy man. Today it is windy and the waves are big. Brian said to Captain Benn, "I want to go out in the small boat." Captain Benn said NO BRIAN, IT'S TOO WINDY, THE WAVES ARE TOO BIG, THE BOAT IS WOBBLEY, YOU CAN'T GO OUT IN THE SMALL BOAT. Brian said to Captain Benn, I want to go to a different island. Captain Benn said NO BRIAN, IT IS TOO WINDY, THE WAVES ARE TOO BIG, OUR BOAT WOULD BE TOO WOBBLEY, SOMETHING WOULD GET BROKEN, WE CAN'T GO OUT ON THE SEA IN THIS BOAT. Brian said to Captain Benn, I want to go home. Captain Benn said NO BRIAN, IT IS TOO WINDY, THE WAVES ARE TOO BIG, WE CAN'T GO HOME YET. Brian said to Captain Benn, I'm saaad, I want to go somewhere. Captain Benn said NO BRIAN, WE HAVE TO WAIT.  AFTER WE'VE ALL HAD A NICE SLEEP, THERE WILL BE LESS WIND AND WE CAN GO SOMEWHERE . Lots of love pa Pe...

  Hi Chloe We've had a busy day and Captain Benn and Brian are both tired , so they went to their rooms for some quiet time. Before Captain Benn went to bed he said.. PA PETE, CAN YOU DRIVE THE BOAT , WHILE I HAVE A REST,? Captain Benn showed me all the switches and buttons and clocks and how to work the steering wheel and pointed which way to go. And I have to watch this special TV. It shows us which way to go. I have to look out for other boats, big ships and whales ( we saw 12 whales today) and turtles and most importantly... Water that is not deep enough for our boat .. We don't want to get stuck. It's a bit tricky to drive this boat, but I think I'll do a good job. I hope I don't get sleepy. Lots of love pa Pete

 Hi Chloe, I thought I'd better let you know, my phone's not working.... There's no houses, no cars, no people and now there's no phone. the reception here is almost 0 and there'll be none for a few days. I'm going to be sad .... Oh pa pete's sad..... because I can't send my messages to you ,  but there will be more messages when the phone works again. Love pa Pete

 Hi Chloe, we have a very nice day today and nothing is broken on our boat (except the TV) if Brian and pa Pete are good Captain Benn will give us a jelly. Lots of love pa Pete

 Good morning Chloe, capitan Benn was right! My Shoulder is all better. Here is a picture of Captain Benn. He loves his boat. But he was not happy with a messy cupboard. The cupboard was very messy. Pa Pete and Brian tidied it up. Now Captain Benn is very happy. Love pa Pete

 

 Hi Chloe, I didn't tell you before, but there are 3 people on this boat, there's pa Pete and Captain Benn and a man called Brian. Tonight there's a problem on this boat. Captain Benn and Brian both want to watch the football and pa Pete wants to go to bed. (Pa pete's tired and I have a sit shoulder).  Hi Chloe, are you still at your holiday unit? Is out good fun having a holiday there? We are still in the big River, there are no cars, no bridges and no houses here, just our boat in a big River. Today we saw the biggest stingray. It was huge. And it was eating it's dinner. It eats tiny little things that sooo smallllll that you can't even see them. It's name is a Manta ray and it's longer than pa Pete. I'll send you a picture love pa Pete

  Hi Chloe, today we're leaving the islands and going to another River. (Called port Clinton) Captain Benn said...  "there will be some windy days soon, so we don't want to be out on the sea. Our boat will be all wibley-wobley and we might fall over , if we stay out on the sea."....... "Let's go up a River" said pa Pete "we might see some more pelicans or a turtle " THAT SOUNDS LIKE FUN, said Captain Benn. I hope you are having fun too. Love pa Pete

 Hi Chloe, today we came to an island, it has no bridge, and it has no roads and no people live on it. It's called Humpy island. A long long long time  ago before Chloe was born, pa Pete, ommie and aunty fiiiii had a camping holiday on that island. We put  our tents and slept the for about 10 sleeps. Some crows came and stole some of our food. Hope you have a fund day at your holiday unit love pa Pete

 Hi Chloe, today we went out onto the sea again. On the way we saw a Pelican. A funny old bird is the Pelican... His beak can hold more than his tummy can. Captain Benn said I can drive his boat . I have to watch out for water that is not deep (we don't want to get stuck) and look out for people in small boats and I have to watch out for big ships too. It's fun to drive the boat.   Pa Pete better stop writing a message and drive the boat. Love pa Pete

 Later I said to Captain Benn... I don't think I want to drive any more, I can see some boats and i'm a bit worried. Capitan Benn said WHAT CAN YOU SEE? PA PETE. I said they are huge ships. H9

Hi Chloe Wow,  what a fun day you had yesterday... Holiday unit, swim, surf club lemonade. Holidays are brilliant. On my holiday on the boat yesterday, we had a BBQ, had a beer and we  watched the football on the TV. Then had a good sleep Before the Sun came up , Captain Benn said WAKE UP PA PETE AND GET THE ANCHOR UP, I WANT TO LEAVE THIS TOWN AND GO SOMEWHERE THAT'S NICER. So in the dark, I used the strong machine and pulled up the anchor onto our boat. Captain Benn was ready at the strong wheel and drove us out onto the sea. When the sun came up Captain Benn said THAT'S A NICE WIND WE HAVE THERE, PA PETE CAN YOU PUT UP A SAIL? What a good idea, I said, I'll put it up now. Have fun today love pa Pete

 Hi Chloe,. Captain Benn has fixed our broken tap and the lights and the fridge. The boat is ready, but Captain Benn said THERE'S TOO MUCH WIND TODAY AND THE WAVES ARE TOO BIG, WE WILL STAY IN THE RIVER. We have to wait here until  Captain Benn says it is OK to go out to the sea again. I saw 2 dolphins in the river. I hope you are having fun today. Love pa Pete  Captain Benn likes flags.  Good morning Chloe, the cat went inside the boat to sleep. I haven't seen him today. The cat has a very nice boat. Love pa Pete the boat has a name, is called wizard of the wind. 

 Hi Chloe. Today we saw something different.. we came to the marina, where all the boats Park and on the boat next door is a cat. We are so tired after busy day. So we'll say good night. Love pa Pete

 Hi Chloe we went past a nice sailing boat. It has a triangle shaped sail and it is very very slow. Captain Benn didn't have to toot his horn  love pa Pete

 Hi Chloe Captain Benn is still worried about our water tap and now the lights and fridge aren't working properly. We have to go to a town to get a man to fix it. The a boat has to go over a lot of water that is not deep, so we have to find the deep water for our boat to go in. Captain Benn has a special TV to measure how deep the water is.The special TV says 18.8 deep, WE WON'T GET STUCK HERE. said Captain Benn

 Hi Chloe. Before we went to sleep I heard a blowing noise, I think it was the old turtle or a Dugong. It was too dark and I could not see it. We had a big dinner of fish and spaghetti. Early in the morning before the Sun came up, Captain Benn was awake, He said GET UP PA PETE, WE ARE LEAVING THIS BIG SAND ISLAND AND GOING TO TOWN. PULL UP THE ANCHOR.  Ok I said, but I want my breakfast. NO he said THIS BOAT IS SLOW AND IT'S A LONG WAY... WE HAVE TO LEAVE NOW.

 Hi Chloe, on our boat we have one tap and it was  broken we had no water, lucky Captain Benn is very clever at fixing things . We can have a drink and a shower now. This afternoon we saw a very old turtle. I think she was 100 years old. Love pa Pete

 Hi Chloe, we are leaving the sea now and going behind an island. I think it's the biggest and Sandiest island in the whole world. Captain Benn is driving the boat very carefully because he doesn't want to get the boat stuck on the mud. The island has no bridge, but cars can get there on a boat called a ferry. There's are some houses on this island. Love pa Pete

 Wow! we just saw a whale

 Hi Chloe Captain Benn said ANCHORS AWAY. that means put the anchor down. we have anchored (stopped) at our first island. It has a bridge over the water to it, and has lots of roads and houses on the island. Love pa Pete

 Hi Chloe we are way out on the sea now. This part of the boat is called the wheelhouse. Captain Benn has a nice steering wheel and in the corner you can see his binoculars. The waves are a bit bigger today and the boat is all wobbly. We have to hold on, when we walk around the boat. I think we might play boats again,  one day. Love pa Pete

Hi Chloe, I hope you are having fun today. I was talking to the captain of the boat (Captain Benn) and he said he's checking to make sure we have enough petrol, water and food (and beer) for our trip. There are no shops out at sea. Ommie has baked us a nice cake to take, too. It will be a long , long , long , slow trip and sometimes the engine will be going all day and all night. Captain Benn said we leave the Marina at lunch time tomorrow. Lots of Love Pa Pete  Hi Chloe the Captain said he hasn't got enough bananas, so I chopped down one of my trees, now we have plenty.
